Barefoot in Public

Did you know that its not illegal to walk barefoot in stores, restaurants, grocery stores, or any other place for that matter?  Most people in this country have grown up to think the opposite because their parents forced them to wear shoes or from signs stating “No Bare Feet”, “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Service”, or “No Barefeet By order of the Health Department”.

The fact is, that those signs are just wrong, and the last one stating “By order of the Health Department” is the worst type of wrong.  It makes people think that there are health regulations that prevent someone walking barefoot in public.  You will find below links to letters from different cities, counties, and states that prove no laws exist.

Members of the Society for Barefoot Living have contacted various state agencies asking whether there are rules or laws preventing someone from entering an establishment barefoot.  You can find out more by visiting their website here.
